Very apt title - amazing what you can find in a walk in the woods, isn't it?

@Walt: All sorts of mysterious treasures (shame we can't take photos of the night sounds in the forest too).
I liked your "what's around the corner" picture - by coincidence my next post has the same theme - great minds...?
I love the way one mushroom uses the other for protection. Or seems to. It's a beautiful photo!

@Seraphine: Thanks Seraphine. I've been taking fungi photos for about a year and this one's my favourite for that reason. Even the raindrops on the sides were natural. I think I'll post a fungi series later.
Wonderful detail in this beautiful close-up. I admire you for getting it so sharp. I might have tried a little underexposure for more highlight detail, although I doubt that I could have done anywhere near the great overall job that you've done here!

@Andrew Gould: Thanks Andrew - I took it a while back with a 6 year old digital which didn't have many manual controls. My new camera has manual focus - so fabulous!
Thanks for your very encouraging comments I'll take them on board and try the underexposure - it;s a new idea to me!
