Personally I'd think it would work better if the crop was tighter around the two men. Good stuff tho. :)

Great image Bron. This is so real.
I grew up in a musical home; my stepdad(s) were both musicians and as a kid growing up in New Orleans, I often got to go where they were playing. So I've seen a lot of good musicians "on the job." This image of your son is classic and cool; he projects so much of what I remember as a kid of the musical community my family travelled in. Sadly to say, I chose to not learn music or to play an instrument; as a child of the '60s, that was my rebellion against the "establishment" of my family. I resisted their constant urges to get musical. So even though I love music and listen to a host of ecclectic styles, as my creative outlet I got "photographical" instead. Go figure.
Glad you took such a great portrait of your son; this should be on his first CD or album jacket or studio poster.

Thanks Viewfinder! Your story is fascinating especially about growing up in New Orleans and rebelling against music! Amazing. All the kids here would love to go there to play and feel the vibe :))!
"Photographical" is very cool too though!! My youth's a bit similar (60's etc) except my dad was a photographer so I never learned to use a camera properly!! How odd when I think of it. At least learning to use one now I'm much older is easier than the music. My granny sang and played church organ and offered me lessons - I was too cool and refused. Now I sing in 3 choirs and am on a steep learning curve to learn to read music! Thanks for telling me about your relationship with music. Photography is wonderfully creative - we're so lucky to have such technology. I had a Box Brownie as a kid!! Sophisticated haha! Rebelling against the BB!!
I'll suggest my pic to Sam as a cover for his new solo cd (he let me sing 16 bars on it Yay!) cheers

@fONfEk: Great fONfEk . I'm pleased that you liked it! thanks!! :)
Excellent shot, I can relate having played music for quite some time on various instruments. Thats great that he is that involved and enjoys it that much (and that he is able to record out of your home...how cool is that!) On the shot; The color separation of the high contrast edges make it look like a 3-d glasses picture, or a screen print.

@Tommy: Thabks! Yes he's built a studio with 3 separate booths to record bands. He can earn a living doing it part time. and still have time to study, play and tour. His brother is drummer for one of his bands so they go together. :) The pic was taken from the audience so had to be cropped fairly tightly from a way off. I wasn't sure whether to process that effect out but decided I like the purply effect!
