It's great to hear your comments! @HouCh: Thanks for your visit HouCh! :) @Pixadilly: It's amazing isn't it (the sky not the picture) the flat land there is like being under a huge bowl of a sky... Thanks Pixadilly! Kheoh Yee Wei from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiaspectacular view of the moment of Nature ! Nice shot ! 18 Aug 2007 12:36pm @Kheoh Yee Wei: Thanks Kheoh Yee Wei - I took it from inside the car because it changed so quickly! @Persian King: Thanks Persian King - pardon my ignorance - what is an HDR image? :) Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesWell, this is beautiful -- the scenery and the postprocessing work. You're a visual magician, Bron. 18 Aug 2007 12:51pm @Viewfinder: You're altogether too kind Viewfinder!! (I like it haha) Thank yoiu! :)) Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomWell cool, like a set of curtains drawing in. I live in the hills, but flat places really have spectacular skies, excellent shot 18 Aug 2007 1:32pm @Richard_Irwin: Yes I like in the hills too Richard - I was travelling out west when I took this, so it seemed pretty amazing ! Thanks for your visit! Harald from Frankfurt am Main, GermanyA beautiful landscape picture. LOVE the way that road curves heading that way... 18 Aug 2007 2:55pm @Rebecca: Thanks Rebecca - that was luck - most of the roads out there are dead straight!! cheers! @JosefQ: Thanks so much Josef! Glad you could drop by! cheers :) Persian King from Fort Worth, TX, United StatesHDR is High Dynamic Range image. Usually done using few bracketing exposure of same scene and combining them in either Photomatix or Photoshop. But I guess you photo originally turned out with high dynamic range anyways. Good work. 18 Aug 2007 5:02pm @Persian King: Thanks so much for your comprehensive explanation Amir. I think you're right - the only processing I did was to adjust the brightness/contrast. I'll have to get Photoshop one day it sounds like fun. I have PS Elements1 which I'm still playing around with but I assume it's limited compared with the "real" PS! cheers Bron Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomIts a fantastic shot Bron! - I'm not surprised that Persian King thought it was an Hdr image as the contrast in light is just amazing - I love that 'about to enter a tunnel' effect and the curve of the road. 18 Aug 2007 5:22pm @Ian Bramham: Thanks for your wishes and comment Ian. Perhaps the stronger light here might play a part - but I have no idea why really! Glad you dropped by - cheers Bron! @Alan: Thanks for your enthusiastic response Alan - it's most welcome :) @Markus: Wow back Markus!!!! :))) @JJCN: Thanks JJCN! @Michael Rawluk: Thank you very much Michael! High praise indeed! beach from oshawa, CanadaLove the shots. Great contrast with the colours. You can almost feel the storm brewing. Reminds me of the Canadian prairies and makes me quite homesick. In other words, you nailed it! 19 Aug 2007 1:10am @beach: I feel ambivalent - on the one hand delighted that you like it, on the othe,r very sorry to have made you sick (for home) In any case your comment is fantastic and much appreciated - thanks beach! Hope you can go home soon. :)) SusanPEI from Summerside, CanadaI've had this picture up on my monitor all day, just soaking it in. Wanted to say something, but it has all been said already. 19 Aug 2007 3:21am @SusanPEI: Hi Susan - thanks - you've said just the right amount!! Bell Roe from Ely, United StatesHow are you getting such amazing pics with a Powershot? Do you do much PP in general? Thinking of upgrading to an SLR? 19 Aug 2007 4:42am @Bell Roe: Hi Bell Roe! I've had the G2 for maybe 7 years with me as I travel etc - it was my first camera and I bought the top of the range digital at the time. (my dad was a prof. photographer for 15 years and I learned to use the dark room but hadn't taken phots) The limitations were zoom and virtually unuseable manual focus - frustrating for macros - but it takes good landscapes and good macros if you have time to work out the focus well. I upgraded to the Panasonic DMC fz30 last Christmas - again the best on specs in digital for the money. It's a compromise of course - I don't want to carry a lot of equipment and swap lenses (I've had chronic fatigue and although pretty well now not perfect! :) ) but love the 12x zoom for birds and the instant switch to macro for that insect that I have to catch!! @Saed: Thanks Saed - glad you enjoyed it! cheers! @pedro alexandre: I'm glad that you like it Pedro! Thanks @Christine: Thanks Christine! @jump: I'm glad you like this one - it's a favourite for me! :)) @Mehdi: Thanks for your kind comment Mehdi! Jewlya from Denver, United StatesMany cloud shots feel flat to me. This is definitely not the case with your photo. The vibrancy of the scene combined with the storm rolling in makes it a very lively photo. Beautifully done. 23 Aug 2007 3:23am @Jewlya: I appreciate your thoughfu,l detailed comment Jewlya! Thanks. Namor from SwedenI would like to have been there. Beautifull colors and treatening sky. 26 Aug 2007 9:07pm @Namor: You'll be very welcome if you ever visit our country Namor! Nina from Bergen, NorwayBron - I just needed to comment this one aswell. You've captured what I felt when driving out of Melbourne towards the Great Ocean Road. So quiet and flat at the same time very dramatic and so alive with colors. You have a spectacular country. I miss it every day! 17 Sep 2007 5:38pm @Nina: I can tell you must come back some day Nina - we'll welcome you when that happens!! cheers Bron |
