jump from Strasbourg, FranceWow, that's wonderful... a mix between painting and photo, nice colours :) 21 Aug 2007 9:05am @jump: Thank you jump! Your visits are always very welcome.:) ColNed Pictures from Amersfoort, NetherlandsLove this shot, great colors and textures. 21 Aug 2007 9:16am @ColNed Pictures: It was an imposing building ColNed! Thanks! Jens from Freudenberg, GermanyWow what colourful old windows. perfect Shot and nice Eyecatcher. 21 Aug 2007 9:53am @Jens: It was in the middle of nowhere in the desert - an appealing subject Jens! Thanks Paulo from Peso da Régua, PortugalNice photo, Bron. Good textures and tones. I like the composition too. 21 Aug 2007 9:53am @Paulo: Thanks for your kind comment Paulo! DaveB from Exeter, United KingdomLoveley, the foreground almost looks like a watercolour! 21 Aug 2007 10:23am @DaveB: Thats amazing Dave - I've spent all week doing a watercolour course - it must rub off!! cheers Bron @Evi: Thanks Evi - endless relentless sun over so many years I guess.. Vanessa from Kent, United KingdomLove the tones and the peeling paint reveals the history of the doors, nice shot Bron 21 Aug 2007 10:44am @Vanessa: It seemed abandoned Vanessa but there was a railway station a few km away so maybe the grains's still loaded there. Thanks for dropping by :) Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesThis is a very cool image; I really love the look. It's interesting to try to discern where the wheat heads leave off and the texture of the weathered doors begins. Also the vertical texturing on the wall kind of goes with the vertical lines of the wheat as it grows. 21 Aug 2007 10:59am @Viewfinder: As usual your thoughtful and detailed comments are interesting and much appreciated viewfinder! Rebel Streetshooter from Big Apple - NYC, United StatesA painterly image. Wonderful composition and layout. 21 Aug 2007 11:14am @Rebel Streetshooter: Thanks so much Rebel SS - It was begging to be photographed! Lorraine from CanadaOh Bron, I were an artist, I would sit there for hours and paint it. It's very special 21 Aug 2007 11:17am @Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine and I might just do that - but not from life - it is many hundreds of km way! Thanks for visiting! Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomThis is another truly amazing piece, Bron. The colours and textures are so glorious, when I first saw it I thought it was a watercolour painting! Then noticed DaveB's comment above....what is it they say about "great minds"? hahaha LOL :) 21 Aug 2007 12:17pm @Rebecca: Good evening Rebecca - you're altogether too kind!! Looks like you and DaveB are on the same wavwlength Ias long as you don't go on with the rest of the saying... haha Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomI love photos of old weatherbeaten doors and this one really tells a story. The wall is a different matter and I couldn't figure it out - is that material painted wood that the wall is made from or is it something else like concrete or render? 21 Aug 2007 12:30pm @Ian Bramham: It's concrete Ian I'm not sure what surfacing has been applied - if any? I agree about old doors - so symbolic and full of secrets! @Shutterbug: Thanks Shutterbug - glad you like it! Jose from Barcelona, SpainUna foto estupenda. Composición luz y color. Enhorabuena. 21 Aug 2007 2:35pm @Jose: Gracias por sus palabras buenas Jose! Amir from Fort Worth, TX, United StatesThis wall with it's vertical extension has great feeling to it. 21 Aug 2007 5:35pm @Amir: I agree Amir - it's a huge silo and the vertical element was what was needed in the picture! :) Shrig from United StatesYou know, I really like photos like this, but I'm not sure why. Its such a simple concept but very calming. Beautiful colors and textures. :) 21 Aug 2007 6:01pm @Shrig: What a lovely comment Shrig - Thanks! Love the tones... Love this image!! Am just trying to catch with everyone now that I'm back... whew, seems like a part time job! LOL Thanks for your comments, eh!!! 22 Aug 2007 1:11am @amy: Wow Amy you're a busy woman!! Good to have you back! And thanks for dropping in and commenting! miu* from GA, United StatesIs this just a wall? 22 Aug 2007 1:42am @miu*: Yes just a weathered concrete wall miu! Several people have noticed that it's rather painting-like! Cool! Thanks for your visit. Wolfgang Prigge from Granby, CanadaAs has been said before, this is like a watercolor. It could very well be used for a birthday card. I like it a lot. 22 Aug 2007 2:33am @Wolfgang Prigge: Another good idea Wolfgang - I could print it for a card - thanks!! Erik from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsI agree with Wolfgang only partially. I find the worn-out textures beautiful, and also the blooming grass refers to ripeness, but I wouldn't use it as a birthday card just for that reason if you know what I mean :), but every other occasion would be fine! 22 Aug 2007 8:53am @Erik: I see what you mean Erik - it might be a little symbolic of the aging recipient!! Bad idea! lol Pixadilly from United StatesI can't add anything to all these comments (you must be tired from reading them all).... but I like it! 22 Aug 2007 8:46pm @Pixadilly: Your visit speaks volumes Pixadilly - Thanks for coming over!
