Standing so tall and straight on its fine stalk! (found in the same field as yesterday's fungus)

Today I want to thank all of you who've helped to turn my new hobby into a more challenging, interesting and expansive experience. I've been amazed at the talented supportive community I've discovered here. Every day your wonderful images spur me on to look both more closely and more broadly! Your comments encourage, inspire and delight me!! THANKS!!

Sadly I've had word of the death of my dear elderly Aunt Jean 2000km away so am travelling to her funeral tomorrow. Ironically the next 3 days (which I'd already posted )are about my mum - her sister. I hope you'll enjoy these as much as I do!! "))

See you all next week with new ideas?!?! cheers Bron :)

@tyan: Thanks tyan. Your prayers were answered - our journey was comfortable and smooth. After a very windy day before our flight home (I'm a bit nervous flying) the trip was through still warm skies!

First of all my condolences for the loss of your aunt. I hope you have a safe trip. Here in our area the upside of funerals is that we get to meet relatives we havn't seen in a while.
To your series of fungi, I'm surprised there are so many Down Under. I had the impression it's such a dry continent that there should be only very few.

@Wolfgang Prigge: Sincere thanks Wolfgang. Indeed the funeral was attended by many people whom it was very good to meet again.

Re the fungi - I did a 15 week course on the science of fungi in Oz this year, initially thinking the same. However the variety and beauty is extraordinary, sometimes in full beating sun or even desert lands!! And our coastal areas can be very wet.

@MaryB: I'm never going to try any field mushroom again Mary - after I collected and cooked some (normal looking) ones a few years back and had mild hallucinations! It was frightening.
