my mum and her mum

Taken in 1925 by an unknown photographer (I love this photo!)
I'm visiting my mum soon and want to celebrate our relationship with a series of 3 pictures of her taken over our shared lives! (she's 82 now, still teaching creative writing and publishing a book each year for her students!)

Georgeous old photo. Is the baby you? Did you have to re-touch it after scanning - or did you copy it with the camera? It reminds me very much of my mum's photo album with photos earlier than that. I lost my mum when she was 88. Sounds as though your mum is doing very well. :-)

@Anne: Hi Anne The baby is my mother. I didn't retouch I photographed it to copy it. Yes my mum is doing well thanks. You must have wonderful memories of your mum. :)

Bron, thanks for nice comments! I thought I'd take a look at your pictures, you have some great once, I must say! But this one really touched me... theres something "real" and true here. In your grandmas eyes I can see shes not used to / 100% comfortable with the idea of having her picture taken, but at the same time she wants your mom to be photographed. I love old, family portrays like this one. They keep memories real. Thanks for sharing your family with us!

@Nina: You're right Nina - cameras were so rare I think that my gran would seldom have been photographed but she is clearly proud of my cute baby mum. I love this picture very much - thanks for your kind words about it! cheers Bron
