Swim anyone?Posted by Bron (Canberra, Australia) on 10 October 2007 in Landscape & Rural. More from my favourite area on the south coast. The colours and the clarity of the water is fantastic - dolphins, giant stingrays and other wonderful fish slipped by as I watched...

Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesThat's beautiful water. Around here the water is so dirty you can't see down more than about a foot. 10 Oct 2007 9:33pm @Twelvebit: Oh dear Twelvebit that's not so good! What's polluting it? I travelled the whole east coast of Oz last year and the only polluted area I saw was in far north Queensland near Green Island - you couldn't see through your mask! Mind you I didn't go into the sea near large cities... Craiger from Vacaville, California, United StatesThat water is so clear! Great shot! 10 Oct 2007 9:53pm @Craiger: Thanks Craiger! Twelvebit from Victoria, United States"Pollution" may not be the right term. There is pollution around here, but many things can make the water "dirty" that I wouldn't call pollution. Algae for example, or simply turbidity. In this shot the water looks like it could be over a rocky/sandy bottom. A lot of the water around here is over muddy bottoms that are easily stirred up and make the water murky. 10 Oct 2007 10:09pm @Twelvebit: Ah - thanks Twelvebit - yes this is over a rocky/sandy base - and taken from a pier over deep water looking in towards the shore so very clean. This area can be wild in a storm and probably turbulent too. Not much algae though. @Reza: Thanks Reza! @Claudio: Thanks for taking the time to comment Claudio - much appreciated! Shadowhawk from Toronto, CanadaEven though I'm not a swimmer, this shot looks so inviting.Great work 11 Oct 2007 4:21am @Shadowhawk: Thanks so much for your kind words Shadowhawk! bronzebilly u.k. from Barry,Vale of Glamorgan, United Kingdomsuperb image Bron--lovely sweep of land--great design pal... 11 Oct 2007 11:35pm @bronzebilly u.k.: Thanks powderbilly - Which day did you say the speedo pix were being posted?? :))))))))) @Daroru: It's a wonderful place Daroru!! |
