It's time for me to take a short break to stare at flowers in my yard and do some vacuuming (not necessarily in that order).
I took this at a reunion. The subject's actually in fits of laughter!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all my fantastic am3 friends for ongoing encouragement, inspiration and amazement at your talent and generosity. I'll drop by when I can.
Heh, she does look like she's crying. This is a great black and white.

@HorseRotorVator: Thanks HRV!! See you later!!
That is an incredible candid, Bron!!! But then again, it's a very fine line between laughter and tears... Screw the vacuuming... at least that's my philosophy and so far it's worked (my husband does it thinking it'll bother me... yeah, right!!!! LOL) Have a wonderful rest... will miss your posts and will wait with forced patience for your new posts!!!
21 Oct 2007 8:38pm
@amy: Thanks amy - you make me laugh out loud!! I agree with you vacuuming is for the birds!! But we have 6 living here now and the mess can be INCREDIBLE!! I ignore it mostly but I start to fall over it and might break my neck!! Plus am3 is so intriguing that I can spend hours and hours on here neglecting my painting and my posture!! haha I'll miss you too and look forward to seeing what you pointed your camera at when I've cleared a space to get back here!! Take care, Bron
Fantastic photo Bron! Your choice in b/w is excellent. :)
Hope to see you back soon after gathering those dust bunnies ;)

22 Oct 2007 12:18am
@rainsocks: It reminds me of a sculpture I had a photo of in a poetry book - a man with his face screwed into an expression which might be pain, laughter, tears, fear - such a clever artist! Don't worry she had just been told a joke by her friend! :) Thanks dear rainsocks - I look forward to catching up when I get back!
I'm relieved she's not crying, although it looks that way! ;) Enjoy your break!

@Rebecca: You are SO sweet Rebecca! Thanks dear friend - I miss you and the Am3 community so much - every day my fingers itch to go out and take shots, rush home and post! But I have to fight it off and turn that vacuum cleaner on H E L P!!!!!
Bron, Bron, Bron, I had your pegged as MIA but only today did I figure out that I needed to come see you here. And so you're on a sabbatical and are all right. That's a relief. You're missed, but everybody needs a break from time to time. I hope those flowers are still blooming, gal! Blessings to you.
31 Oct 2007 1:10pm
@Viewfinder: Thanks so much for tracking me down Viewfinder!!! Yes I just had to stop for a while - I'm what my family calls an enthusiast which really means I get so involved in something that I focus on it to the exclusion of other things (in my day it was called concentration but in the days when people tend to have the attention span of a few minutes it's out of fashion!! haha) So I decided to relax for a while and concentrate on my singing. We're performing African Sanctus next Feb to celebrate the opening of our own new Arts Centre!! :)))) cheers Bron
Hi Bron, nice to hear you are doing well! Very touching picture you have made here! All the Best + hope to see back! A heartfelt Thank you! for all your kind words you've left on my blog!
1 Nov 2007 5:05pm
@Markus: Thanks dear Markus! I'll be back ...but when I watch the lazy vacuum cleaner (no matter how I entreat it to clean by itself it won't!! ) I don't take any photos - I will though when I get over this very laid-back stage and get clicking haha!!
hey Bron!i am amazed by your perfection!great shot!
4 Nov 2007 8:50pm
@Sujyothi: Thanks so much Sujyothi!! I really like photography - watched my dad who was a professional in the 60s and helped him in the darkroom and studio plus learned to colour photos by hand before colour photography was common. Heavens I must be old!! haha
hey girl, duchess, I'd settle for a photo of your vacuum, mmm, what do you say?
11 Nov 2007 5:53am
@Lorraine: hahahah Alrightie then my Lady Lorraine - watch this space while I wake up my creative impulse from under the dust....... How are you going hun?
I'm doing great, but please Duchess feel no pressure, I just wanted to say hi, take as long as you want ;)
13 Nov 2007 6:09am
@Lorraine: No - I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)))))))))))
Great shot!
14 Nov 2007 9:35am
@Sandrine: Thanks Sandrine!!
This is really a fabulous portrait. I would never have interpreted it as laughter though; and even with the knowledge that she is laughing, I find the image has a very powerful emotional wallop.
16 Nov 2007 10:06am
@Twelvebit: I think it shows how close the emotional extremes can be - thanks Twelvebit that's very high praise. I appreciate your continuing interest and support very much.
